Cleola A. Martin


Cleola A. Martin, 93 of Coffeyville, KS passed away at 7:50 p.m. Saturday, February 22, 2020 at the Journey Home in Bartlesville, OK.


She was born on April 27, 1926 in Waco, TX to Mattie Lee Morland McNeese and Frank Pierce.


Cleola was married to Albert J. Martin (deceased) on May 6, 1944 in Temple, TX. Following their marriage, Cleola and Albert moved to Coffeyville, KD. where they raised their daughter Mattieleen Sophia Martin Colbert (deceased).


Cleola worked as a maid for almost 20 years to two of the most prestigious families in Coffeyville, The Fisher's and The Russell's. She was a homemaker, wife, mother, and loving grandmother.


Cleola was a member of St. James United Methodist Church in Coffeyville, KS. She was Head Communion Steward and Treasure Clerk. She was a member of the Women's A Glow and many small organizations in the city.


Cleola's hobbies included being a seamstress, gardening, fishing (every other weekend) with her husband, and taking care of family.


Cleola leave to cherish her memories two Granddaughters: Regina Ingram-Ford (50) of Pueblo, CO and Marsha A. Colbert (48) of Arlington, TX; 8 Great Grandchildren: Mosesha Jones, Ambrey Smith, Kayla Ingram, Chandler Ingram-Gilmore, Teni Ford, Tianna Colbert, Zoie Ford and Aerik Ford; 5 Great-Great Grandchildren: Harmoni Wade-Allen, Ja'Niaya Wade-Allen, London Wade-Allen; Egypt Wade-Allen and Faith Wade-Allen: One Great-Great-Great Grandchild, La'Ky Kaous Wright.


Friends and family may sign the Funeral register book at the vigil Friday, February 28, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.


Homegoing Celebration will be Saturday February 29, 2020 at 11 ;00 a.m. at Mission Funeral Services 502 S, Union following the service Cleola will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery next to her husband Albert.


The family suggest memorials be left at Mission Funeral Services, 502 S. Union, Coffeyville, KS 67337.

I just read of Mrs. Ceola Martin’s passing away. I loved visiting with her and listening to her delightful stories about her family. She kept me laughing. Oh, how she loved her family.
